Hong Kong Beat mobile disco celebrates Thanksgiving Day
A group of economic and political refugees, having survived an intrepid sea journey, found and gave thanks that their new country was bountiful, if not without dangers and mistrust from the local populace.
Now wind back 400 years…
So started the modern American tradition of Thanksgiving, though it traces its roots back to the puritans under Henry VIII, and back even further to pagan rituals before Christianity ‘borrowed’ them.
Music can be a form of thanks, either in the sentiments of a song, the words or just the associations, so Hong Kong Beat mobile disco would like to offer thanks and cerebrate Thanksgiving Day with a little offering of tunes about being thankful for friends, harvests or just for being.

Hong Kong is pretty unique compared to many parts of the World in that many of our young adults, after graduating from high school, don’t just go down the road for 3 or 4 years to attend university, or even to the next city, state or county, but many fly off to the opposite side of the World for months until term break, or even the whole year.
It’s traumatic enough for the parents to see them go – I know I’ve been through it three times over 12 years – but also for the young adults themselves as they set out without the close friendship and support of great school friends they have known often for all of their lives.
Farewell dinners and teary goodbyes at the Airport are all well and good, but why not make it a fun and memorable occasion with a farewell party for friends and family, with maybe also something to look forward to in nine months time with a reunion party as well?

Hong Kong Beat mobile disco has updated information on packages and options
Hi, I’ve added some photos from a house party last year, to give an idea of the kind of flexibility that can be achieved with simple room uplighting, either for the dance floor area (which is included in the standard package), or provided as the only option for more subtle lighting for your event (again, included in the standard package), or as can be added as required.
The lighting can be set as either set as a fixed colour wash, programmed for stand-alone gradual or rapid change, programmed for music change, or programmed for show change. This allows much more flexibility for the client in deciding the mood of the event.
